Christmas for children
the heart of the foundation
Christmas for Children is the heart of the Walk the Walk Foundation. Started in 2005, we started asking the local community to sponsor children for Christmas by purchasing Christmas gifts for those families who otherwise would not be able to afford them.
Thanks to many sponsors and donors - over 10,000 children have been sponsored for Christmas over the past 19 years.

Can I buy a bike or helmet?Yes, you can! You have the option to purchase a bike and helmet for a child who has requested one. If you'd prefer, you can also make a $150 donation, and we will take care of the shopping for you. Your generosity will make a child's Christmas extra special!
-
How can you help? There are a lot of different ways to get involved with Christmas for Children. Whether you are a company, a family, a group of friends, or an individual – there is something for everyone. You can sponsor a child/ family, buy a bike and helmet, give a monetary donation or purchase a book. Fill out our Volunteer Form to get started!
-
How do we get the kids information? We receive our children's names from the Department of Social Services or from an organization that provides social services. The parents or foster-care providers fill out forms so we know the needs or desires of the kids. Currently, we provide Christmas for children in need in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
-
What makes us different? At Walk the Walk, we make each family's Christmas extra special by providing a card, a beautiful ornament, and a meaningful book for each child that shares the true meaning of Christmas. Families also have the opportunity to express their gratitude by sending thanks to their generous sponsors. Your support brings joy, connection, and the spirit of giving to those who need it most.
